As part of the Physical Activity goals outlined by the Community Health Needs Assessment, DCMH, and several local community partners have teamed up to share more information about the defined trails and walking paths in Decatur County.
We will highlight a trail in our county each week, including important information to know before you go. With the community's health in mind, we hope you will take advantage of the warmer weather and go for a walk outside!
The Connection Trail
The Connection Trail offers plenty of parking with two official starting points for the walking trail.
One trailhead is in Rebekah Park located at 115 N Co Rd 80 NE, Greensburg, IN 47240. The second trailhead is in the Decatur County Community Schools Administrative Offices building parking lot at 2020 N Montgomery Rd, Greensburg, IN 47240. The trail is completely paved and well maintained. It passes by a Fitness Park within Rebekah Park, between Greensburg schools, and near many local businesses. Several stretches of the trail are shaded, but much of it is not. Benches are available near both official trailheads, but none are along the walking trail itself. While there are just two official starting points, there are many access points along the route. The complete out-and-back length of the trail is approximately 3.3 miles.
The trail is open year-round to the public from dawn to dusk and is beautiful to visit any time. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
