As part of the Physical Activity goals outlined by the Community Health Needs Assessment, DCMH, and several local community partners have teamed up to share more information about the defined trails and walking paths in Decatur County.
We will highlight a trail in our county each week, including important information to know before you go. With the community's health in mind, we hope you will take advantage of the warmer weather and go for a walk outside!
DCMH Walking Trail
The DCMH Walking Trail offers plenty of parking in the hospital parking lot with two optional starting points for the walking trail.
One trailhead is near Decatur County Primary Care at 718 N. Lincoln St., Greensburg, IN 47240 and the other is near the Rehabilitation & Medical Offices building at 902 N. Lincoln St., Greensburg, IN 47240.
The trail is completely paved and surrounded by both new landscaping and mature trees that provide nice shade. Several new chairs are located in the Remembrance Garden on the trail to rest in. If you walk the entire trail it's about .5 miles.
The trail is open year-round to the public and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. This is on a smoke-free campus.
